Overview

HCC is a holistic healthcare platform aimed at streamlining interactions among all major healthcare stakeholders—Patients, Doctors, Hospitals, Diagnostic Centers, and Pharmacies. The goal was to create a single mobile application with role-based interfaces, enabling a smooth, efficient, and connected experience for everyone involved.

Challenge

Designing a role-based app that serves multiple user types comes with its own complexity. Each stakeholder had distinct goals, actions, and pain points—ranging from appointment booking and prescription tracking for patients to managing test reports and medicine orders for hospitals and pharmacies. Ensuring a clean UI while handling this diversity was key.

Solution

We created a modular, role-based mobile app that delivers personalized dashboards and features for each user type:

  • Patients can consult doctors, book diagnostics, track prescriptions, and order medicines.

  • Doctors can manage appointments, view patient history, and write e-prescriptions.

  • Hospitals can view and coordinate appointments, diagnostics, and pharmacy needs.

  • Diagnostic Centers can track test bookings and upload results.

  • Pharmacies can receive prescriptions and manage medicine dispatch.

UI Design Approach

Once usability testing surfaced key friction points, we moved to the final design phase in Sketch.

Design Direction:
We followed a fresh and clean visual style—modern, but clinical. Whites and blues were used to evoke trust, calmness, and hygiene.
The app followed Material Design guidelines for Android with custom tweaks to suit the medical context.

Key UI Considerations:

  • Simplified navigation for elderly and first-time users

  • Clear role-based logins and UI separation

  • Easy appointment booking and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) access

  • Integrated reminders and notifications

What Made It Special?

  • A role-based design that still feels unified and intuitive

  • Thoughtful touches like medication refill reminders and one-tap emergency help

  • Platform scalability to onboard new roles or features in the future

  • Optimized for both phone and tablet screens
